If, for some reason, the file permissions have become altered for BRU Server's environment (in the /usr/local/bru-server/ folder) you can download and run the permission fix script to make sure that your BRU Server environment has all of the correct permissions for continued reliability and use.

The output of the script, when all permissions are correct, will look like like this:

$ sudo /usr/local/bru-server/fix-bs-permissions.py
Password:
Running BRU Server permissions check and correction...
Checking 700 permissions...
Checking 755 permissions...
Checking 644 permissions...
Checking 777 permissions...
Checking catalog folder and catalogs...
Permission check/fix complete.
$

If there are any files that have been altered or the files are incorrect permissions/ownership, the script will report the files to you, as shown in the example below:

$ sudo /usr/local/bru-server/fix-bs-permissions.py
Running BRU Server permissions check and correction...
Checking 700 permissions...
    Permissions incorrect for 'archives'.
    Fixing permissions on 'archives'...
    Permissions incorrect for 'backup'.
    Fixing permissions on 'backup'...
    Permissions incorrect for 'log'.
    Fixing permissions on 'log'...
Checking 755 permissions...
    Permissions incorrect for 'agent'.
    Fixing permissions on 'agent'...
Checking 644 permissions...
Checking 777 permissions...
Checking catalog folder and catalogs...
    Permissions incorrect for 'catalogs'.
    Fixing permissions on 'catalogs'...

Download BRU Server Permission Fix Tool

Once the file as been downloaded and placed on the Desktop of the system where the BRU Server Server is running, running the following command will extract the tool to the proper location:

sudo tar -zxvPf ~/Desktop/fix-bs-permissions.tar.gz

Once the file has been extracted, it can be run using the following command:

sudo /usr/local/bru-server/fix-bs-permissions.py

It will then run and fix any files/folders that do not have the correct permissions that BRU Server needs and uses frequently.
