Reinstall BRU PE on 10.6+

If, for whatever reason, you need to reinstall BRU Producer's Edition on Mac OS X 10.6.0 or higher (including Lion 10.7.0+), there are two files that will first need to be deleted on the system.  Those files are:

  • com.tolisgroup.bru-pe.bom
  • com.tolisgroup.bru-pe.plist

These files would also need to be delete if you're getting a "Installation Failed" message from an update of BRU PE.

These files can be deleted using the following command:

sudo rm -f /var/db/receipts/com.tolisgroup.bru-pe.*

Once you've successfully run that command, the receipt files will have been removed and the BRU PE installation will be able to commence as needed.
