Multiple Tape Devices, One BRU Server System. Can this be done?
Many installations of BRU Server have two or more stand-alone tape drives or even have multiple library's. Some customers buy additional library's support the increase of the data that is to be backed up. Natually, the question comes up, "Can I use multiple tape devices on a single install of BRU Server ?"
The answer is YES! Do you require additional licenses or any other fees? No!
All that needs to be done is to attach the new or additional device to the BRU Server Server and then perform a hardware scan . This will allow BRU Server to find your existing hardware as well as your new hardware, thus allowing you to use as many tape drives or library's that you want.
To run a hardware scan, you need to perform the steps in the command line. For these steps, please see KB Article #10.
